Puk-e-DATA Technical Specifications Puk-e-DATA uses a Front End/Back End approach to database design. The Front End contains the forms and reports and is what users see; the Back End is where the data is stored. This means the Front-End can easily be updated. If necessary this process will also update the Back End and add extra data fields as required. This approach also allows for easy networking if required. Puk-e-DATA uses Microsoft® Access as a Front-End. This can allow experienced Access users to create their own reports. Puk-e-DATA uses either Microsoft® Access or Microsoft® SQL Server as its Back-End database. Access is fine for small providers, but the extra security and stability of SQL Server is available for larger providers or those operating on multiple sites and requiring a centralised solution. |
